Privacy Policy

The short version

Bible Trivia Live is a free trivia game. We don't have accounts, we don't ask for your email unless you choose to contact us, and we don't sell or share personal information. The only things we store are what a game needs to run, plus anonymous usage statistics.

What we collect

Game information. When you join or host a game, we store the display name you type in, your answers, and your score so the game works. Game data is automatically cleaned up after games end.

High scores. If you finish in the top ten of a Single Player or Group game, you can choose to add your name to the public leaderboard. This is completely optional — if you skip it, nothing is saved. The board shows only the name you enter, your score, and the game type, category, and difficulty. Tournament results are saved automatically under the tournament's name.

Usage statistics. We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they use. This collects things like your approximate location (country/city level), device type, and pages viewed. It does not collect your name, and we never send game PINs or answers to Google Analytics.

Contact form. If you use the contact form, we collect your name, your email address and your message. We use them only to read and reply to your message. The form sends your message to us by email, and your email address is set as the reply address so we can answer you directly. To limit spam, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address for a short time. It cannot be read back as your actual address.

Cookies

Google Analytics uses small cookies to tell visits apart. The game itself also uses your browser's local storage to remember your player session so you can rejoin a game if your connection drops. Neither is used for advertising.

What we don't do

We don't sell data, we don't run ads, we don't track you across other websites, and we don't send marketing emails. If you contact us, we only use your email to reply.

Removing your name from the leaderboard

Added your name to the high scores and changed your mind? Use our contact page and we'll remove the entry.

Children

The game is designed to be family-friendly and is often played at church events with kids. We intentionally collect as little as possible, and children should use a first name or nickname rather than a full name on the leaderboard.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
